Ashley
Left with her grandmother in Jamaica aged 2, Ashley is 16 when she joins her mother in New York. Adjusting to a new household that included a stepfather she had never met proved difficult. She reflects on her beloved grandmother to whom she remains close and on the things she wishes her mother had done differently.
